Polydioxanone (PDO) threads are a minimally invasive cosmetic procedure that can help tighten sagging skin and improve facial contour. The procedure involves inserting fine, absorbable threads into the skin's subcutaneous layer using blunt-tip needles. The threads cause micro-injuries that stimulate collagen production, which can last for two to three years. After about six months, the threads dissolve into the body and leave new collagen in their place.

Before the procedure, the area is numbed with a local anesthetic. A trained aesthetician then outlines the placement path of the threads to create the best lift for the patient's facial tissues and areas of concern. The procedure can take 30–90 minutes, depending on the size of the area being treated and the number of threads used. Patients may experience swelling and bruising, but some people don't. After the initial placement, a follow-up appointment is usually scheduled for about 4–6 weeks later.
